Ice Cream!

On Sunday we went and ate at a Mexican place after church with my mom and dad.  They give kids free ice cream after the meal.  Kaitlyn always gets an ice cream, on Sunday Kylie wanted one too so we decided to let her have one.  They fixed her a little cone with sprinkles and the tiniest bit of chocolate syrup.  She LOVED it!  Suprisingly, she actually stayed fairly clean considering it was her first ice cream cone that I let her hold all by herself.

Speaking of church, on Sunday night we had a very convicting sermon for me.  It was talking about being the salt of the world.  I got to thinking about it, and the characteristic of salt is that it spreads easily and gives things flavor.  I want to be better salt...If we are truly children of God then we should have a desire to be just like salt and spread His word everywhere.  I think we as Christians all need to remember to be SALT!

This is a picture of Kylie eating her ice cream.
All I had to take a picture with was my cell phone
so it's not very clear but it is super cute!

Go Rams Go!!!

We had a full but great weekend. On Friday night we went and ate at a BBQ place that has the best ribs and after that we went to some of our friends house. Candace has been my best friend since we were in kindergarten and I have known her husband for years. They have a little girl that is 3 weeks younder than Kylie. It is so amazing how the Lord works because we had no idea that two girls who have been basically inseperable their whole lives would have two little girls only three weeks apart! It makes me wonder what they will be like when they get older, will they want to spend every minute with each other the way that we did? I think about all of the fun and silly times we had together as kids and I can't wait for our girls to get to experience that.

Saturday night we went to watch our high school basketball teams. For my friends in Huntsville just go ahead and take a big laugh because yes...this is a big night out here in the "sticks." Anyway, our B-team boys and Varsity boys had both made it to the finals in the county tournament so we decided to go watch. It was lots of fun to watch especially since BOTH teams won. GO RAMS! While we were there the school secretary came and brought me and Kyle some old pictures that a photographer had, from several years ago, of me in my cheerleading uniform and Kyle his freshman year in his football jersey. It is funny (and kind of sad) to see what 10 years will do to you. I had to put the pictures away because they were making me depressed, all I could think about was how thin I used to be! Anyway, we had a great time and Kylie did too. We had to go beside the bleachers and let her play a little bit, but considering we were there from 5 til 10 that night I would say she did great! Here are our blast from the past pictures and Kylie in her Rams cheerleading uniform (thanks Eryn for letting us use Kate's hand-me-downs).

Dance Fever

Today we just ran some errands and hung out at nana's house.  After that, we went to pick up Kaitlyn (Kylie's cousin) from school.  When Kylie was just learning to walk Kaitlyn taught her to dance.  She could dance better than she could walk for a long time.  At first it was just sort of a bounce and then she learned to swing her hips and now she shouts "get down" and starts dancing almost any time she hears music.  She has also added marching, spinning in circles and jumping to this thing she calls dancing.

Kylie loves to shake her booty and it is hilarious to watch!  Here are a few snap shots of her and Kaitlyn shaking their booties this afternoon in Kylie's room.

Mommy, Daddy, Toys

Kylie is at the age where she seems to be learning or discovering new things every day.  She loves to talk up a storm.  Most of the time it is gibberish coming out of her mouth but she looks at us like we should know exactly what she says.  She is saying all kinds of words and trying to make sentences.  Her biggest "sentence" so far is "Mommy, Daddy, Toys."  This means that she wants us to come to her room and play with her toys.  She is also very good at saying Please which sounds more like Pea's.

Another thing that she is doing is when we sit down to dinner we tell her it is time for the prayer and she grabs our hands (we hold hands when we pray) and bows her head.  The only hang up is that if Kyle's pray last very long then she starts saying Amen before he finishes.  She normally says Amen about 3 times during his prayer.  She sat in church with us this morning and she "Amened" my dad (our pastor) twice!

Re-trying

Ok, it has been six months since I have blogged and I was going to delete the blog and just give up. When Kylie was younger I struggled with what to write about and I just thought it was boring. I have been reading several blogs lately and I really look forward to reading them every couple of days so I decided to give this another shot before I declare myself a total failure at blogging. My goal is to update at least 2-3 times a week. We will see how it goes!
